"This is the one to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble, and has a contrite heart, and who trembles at My word.".
In this life of myriad distractions, it is not so easy to tremble at the word of God, for it does not seem so relevant when compared to our present pressing earthly desires, for it seems to address matters that are so very far away. But at that time when we see that we are facing imminent judgment, in which our eternal fate shall be determined, then we are far better able to summon up a right and wholesome fear to aid us in making our peace with God SURE. Fear is much maligned in the Church today, as being somehow antithetical to Grace; but nonetheless it is itself one of the crucial gospel graces, a means to work out our salvation.
